You may be surprised to learn that Minnesota’s Conservation Officers are turning 120 years old!
Since 1887 Minnesota’s Conservation Officers have been protecting the State’s natural resources. To commemorate this event, the Minnesota DNR and the Minnesota Conservation Officers Association are hosting a conference for the North American Wildlife Enforcement Officers Association (NAWEOA). I am writing to request that you partner with us as we celebrate this milestone in our history.
NAWEOA is an 8,000 member strong organization of Conservation Officers, Game Wardens, Wildlife Officers, and Rangers from across the United States and Canada. We are expecting over 1100 attendees, of which over 600 are delegates, to attend the conference in St. Paul.
We need your help! Most attending are field level officers who are coming at their own expense, as such we need to keep the registration costs as reasonable as possible. Your sponsorship is vital to make this happen.
The North American Wildlife Enforcement Officers Association Conference 2007; exists to provide a premiere conference to disseminate knowledge in the area of natural resource law enforcement. The conference will provide open dialogue and educational opportunities for wildlife enforcement officers from across the North American continent and beyond. Areas of focus will include; officer safety, new technology to detect violations, and the skills necessary to assist them now and into the future as they protect the natural resources they are entrusted with.
You will be a part of ensuring the Natural Resources are better protected by these officers as they take this knowledge back to their states and provinces, share it with fellow officers and incorporate new techniques, and nationwide contacts into their daily law enforcement work.
You might be asking yourself, why we cannot fund this conference out of State of Minnesota funds. Unfortunately, no state agency could fund a conference of this size without help from its business partners. The cost of this conference is in excess of $300,000.00. Sponsorship from you is critical to the success of this conference. Donations to this event are tax deductible. Your support is needed now to make this conference a reality!
